Asian Games 2014: Kabaddi Teams win Gold as India Finishes Eighth Overall
Four Gold medals in the eleventh hour of the Asian Games helped India to end the 2014 Incheon Asian Games with 11 Golds, 9 Silvers and 37 Bronze medals. They ended 8th in the rankings. Medal tally winners China added few more medals in the last day and took its medal tally to take it to 327 including 143 gold, 103 silver and 81 bronze. Hosts South Korea’s medal tally touched 220 includes 75 gold, 69 silver and 76 bronze as they finished second. They are well ahead of third placed Japan, who took their medal tally to 188 including 46 gold, 71 silver and 71 bronze.
Jitu Roy, MC Marykom, Seema Antil, Men’s Hockey team, Men’s and Women’s hockey team, Indian men’s Squash team, Yogeshwar Dutt, women’s 4*400 metres relay, Indian men’s compound Archery team and Indian mixed doubles team of Sania Mirza/Saketh Myneni won the Gold medals for India.
