Nita Ambani becomes Indian Olympic Committee member

The founder of Indian Super League football Nita Ambani has become a member of International Olympic Committee (IOC). She is the first lady member of a national Olympic committee in Asia.

She is the most powerful women in India. She is the chairperson and founder of Reliance Foundation.

She is associated with sports for the last eight years. She owns Indian Premier League franchise Mumbai Indian and founded the revolutionary Indian Super League which completed two years in 2016.

However, it is not known in what capacity he becomes the member of IOC. The Indian contingent  will Ro de Jenirio in Brazil for the 2016 Olympic.

Nita’s IOC membership is will possibly help India a lot. IOA  recently received many  flakes as they appointed Bollywood actor Salman Khan. Former olympian Milkha Singh and wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt also objected Salman’s appointed. Sports loving people of India too booed the decision. Under pressure, IOC forced to cancelled Salman’s appointed and instead appointed Sachin Tendulkar, AR Rahman and Abhinav Bindra as the brand ambassador.

Nita Ambani has so far done anything for Olympic sports in India. It seems that she got a membership just because of her power. She  is the wife  of richest person in India Mukesh Ambani-owner of Reliance industries.

In India, Olympic sports has never taken seriously and any industrialist has not shown interest to build infrastructure for the  budding sportsperson.

A few Olympic-bound athlete was not allowed to train recently as Salman Khan’s movie Sultan was shooted at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

Nita Ambani founded Indian Super League -a private football tournament but teams are yet to build a youth academy for the development of Indian football.

Teams are making money from the league but Indian football improved little.

Nita too has shown little interest in investing money in the individual sport. She can help Olympic sports  to develop in India, but she has never paid any heed to dismal conditions of Indian olympian. So her inclusion is not only surprising but also raised a question about IOC’s existence. Like football is Nita going to found a multi-sport competition in India. If she does that will help sportspersons but infrastructure is key for producing olympian.
