Indian Lawn Tennis player Sania Mirza along with her Zimbabwean partner Cara Black has booked their spot in women’s mixed doubles of the BNP Parivas Open Tennis Tournament. They had shot down the eighth seeded duo of Czech Lucie Hradecka and Chinese Jie Zheng in the semi-final by 6-4, 3-6, and 10-7 in a head to head match.

This duo are going to face off the winner of the other semi-final occurred between  top seed Su-Wei Hsieh of Chinese Taipei and China Shuai Peng and the wild card pair of Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia and Samantha Stosur of Australia.

Sania-Cara pair won the quarter-final round against American pair Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears following straight sets 6-4, 6-3. They have stormed into the semi-final and they gave a defeat to second-seeded Russians Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina. This fifth-seeded Indo-Zimbabwean duo won 6-4, 6-1.

Sania-Cara pair is playing good consistency and the hope of the trophy win by an India is now residing in this 27 year old Lawn Tennis player’s shoulder as the US Champions Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek got defeated by Swiss pair Roger Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka.

Indian Tennis lovers now put their fingers crossed to see a result on their side.
