Team India, who had already faced a number of injuries in the last two Test matches, might get under another huge trouble as Ravindra Jadeja received a blow to the thumb. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has informed that the allrounder has been taken to the hospital for scans.
While batting on the third day of the Sydney Test, Jadeja was hit on the left thumb as he fended at a rising delivery from Mitchell Starc. Commentators on-air speculated if he had dislocated his thumb, but he, too, carried on batting after treatment from the physio.
Ravindra Jadeja returned to the pavilion unbeaten scoring 28 runs in 37 balls but didn’t come to field in the second innings. Notably, Jadeja had earlier missed the T20I series with a concussion and a hamstring injury.

Ravindra Jadeja’s ouster will be a huge set back for Team India

In the ongoing Sydney Test, Ravindra Jadeja had given a huge contribution to cut short Australia’s first innings. He notched the crucial wickets of Marnus Labuschagne and Matthew Wade beside sending the tail-enders Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon early. But the highlight of the innings was his excellent fielding effort which led to the run-out of Steve Smith.
The Aussie batting mainstay, who had already scored the century, was looking for a quick double but Jadeja’s excellent throw at the striker’s end put an end to Smith’s awesome innings. With Smith’s fall of a wicket, the hosts’ first innings also ended for 338 runs.

In the second Test match as well, he had stitched a match-winning partnership with Ajinkya Rahane and in the process, completed his fifty to guide India to victory.
Team India will hope that he doesn’t have a major injury and will be at least available for the last and fourth match of the series in Brisbane.
