Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic is still keen to make a move to Manchester United this summer despite few complications over the transfer, according to reports.

The Serbian international was signed back at Chelsea by Mourinho back in 2014 and had played a crucial role in their title winning season back then. The midfielder had a very good year under Antonio Conte last season as the Blues were once again crowned as the Premier League champions.

However, he could be replaced by French midfielder Tuemoue Bakayoko as Antonio Conte is keen to bring on the Monaco star this summer. But the deal is yet to be finalized as there are concerns over the 22-year old’s fitness which is stalling his move to Stamford Bridge.

Elsewhere, Jose Mourinho is also trying to make a move for the Monaco midfielder which could instead force Chelsea to pay up more money to push for a deal. The Blues are left visibly frustrated after Jose Mourinho managed to sign Everton striker Romelu Lukaku despite Chelsea’s interest over the past 12 months.

Manchester United and Chelsea could be worsening their ties especially if they fight their way to sign Bakayoko as Chelsea could once again lose another key target to their league rivals. According to Daily Telegraph, Matic is still keen to make a move to Old Trafford this summer to link up with his former boss Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese manager is keen to strengthen his squad this summer as Manchester United are set to play Champions League next season. They have already signed Victor Lindelof from Benfica and Romelu Lukaku from Everton as their marquee signings in the ongoing window.

The Red Devils are currently considering a move for defensive midfielder, having overly relied on ageing Michael Carrick last season. The signing of Matic would be ideal for the club as the Serbian is a proven player in Premier League and will be a risk free business for the club.

Manchester United are also looking at various other options across Europe and the likes of Eric Dier from Tottenham and Fabiho, AS Monaco are also linked with a move.
