Football fans might witness the return of former stars Eden Hazard, Luis Suarez, Christiansen Eriksen, Mario Balotelli, and Diego Costa to the English Premier League this month. Legendary league figures Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard are also expected to return to the top-tier of English football as the next manager of Everton.
Philippe Coutinho returned to Premier League after his loan switch from Barcelona to Aston Villa. The former Liverpool star spent five successful years in English football before making his £142 million club-record transfer to Catalan giants in 2018. He joined his former teammate and another Premier League returnee Steven Gerrard and had an instant impact at Villa Park against Manchester United last week.
But he will not be the only player returning to the Premier League this month as the winter transfer window is open for ten more days and we can witness a few other former stars coming in before the transfer window closes on 31st January midnight.
Luis Suarez And Eden Hazard To Return To Premier League This Month?
Luis Suarez, Philippe Coutinho, and Eden Hazard dominated English Premier League last decade and then move to La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid when there in their prime. But now Premier League has become the best league in the world after surpassing La Liga in league’s ratings two years ago.

Eden Hazard switched to Real Madrid from Chelsea in 2019 for a transfer fee of £100 million but failed to adapt at his new club and also struggled with injuries and fitness. But now he has been linked with a Premier League return as Chelsea are looking to reunite with their former star. Newcastle United and Everton are also keeping a tab on Belgian forward but Hazard’s £400-a-week salary will be a big issue for all the three Premier League clubs. Spanish outlet AS reports that Real Madrid are ready to sell Hazard this month for a transfer fee of just £41 million.
Former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has six months remaining on his Atletico Madrid contract and he has rejected an extension offer from the Spanish champions already. Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard has contacted his former teammate to join him and Coutinho at Villa Park this month, and the 34-year-old Uruguayan legend is delighted with this offer.

Mario Balotelli, Diego Costa, And Christian Eriksen On Their Way To Premier League?
Former Tottenham Hotspur ace Christian Eriksen has been offered six months contract offer by Brentford this week. The 29-year-old Danish midfielder left Inter Milan last month after terminating his contract due to being unable to play in Serie A. Eriksen suffered cardiac arrest during Euro 2020 Denmark’s opening game against Finland in June 2021. He was rushed to the hospital and stabilized later but hasn’t been on the pitch since then.

Eriksen returned to Inter Milan with a cardiac device implant but Serie A rules don’t allow players with that device. So Inter and Eriksen mutually terminated the contract last month and now the player is seeking a new club. Brentford and Newcastle United are interested in former Spurs star and Brentford have even offered a six-month contract to test players’ fitness and planning to offer a long-term contract if he impresses.
Former Manchester City and Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli is linked with Premier League return as Newcastle United added him to their striker’s shortlist. The 31-year-old former Italian star plays for Turkish club Adana Demirspor which is his 10th football club and is open for Newcastle United move this month.

Arsenal are linked with former Chelsea striker Diego Costa who recently left Atletico Mineiro and now is a free agent. Signing Costa will not go in fans’ favor but Arsenal’s recent example with David Luiz and Willian shows us this deal could happen this month. Diego Costa scored 52 league goals during his 4 years with Arsenal’s bitter rivals Chelsea.
