The two Indian stars, Pragyan Ojha and Rohit Sharma have known each other for years. They were teammates at the junior level and then helped Deccan Chargers to lift the title in the 2009 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Now both will be seen in the upcoming IPL 2023 in different roles, Ojha is the governing council member of the league while, Rohit will be seen leading the Mumbai Indians (MI).
The left-arm spinner, in an interview with Jio Cinema, revealed that the MI skipper is among them who can play pranks and do mimicry of people.

Ex- Indian cricketer also revealed that he first met Rohit at a U-15 national camp-
“He was from a middle-class family and I remember he once got emotional when we discussed how his budget for cricket kits was restricted. In fact, he also delivered milk packets – of course that was really a long time ago – so that he could buy his kit. Now when I see him, I feel very proud of how our journey started and where we reached,” said Ojha.

Ojha then recalled the duo’s days at Chargers during IPL in 2008, he also reveals that Rohit used to deliver milk packets to buy his cricket kit. The 36-year-old also reveals that the Mumbai native became emotional as he talked about his impoverished upbringing.
“When I first met Rohit in the U-15 national camp, everyone said he was a very special player. There, I played against him and took his wicket. Rohit was a typical Bombay guy who didn’t speak much but was aggressive when he played. In fact, I was very surprised as to why he was being so aggressive with me when we didn’t know each other! But after that our friendship began to grow,” he added.
In the interview, Pragyan Ojha also speaks about Rohit’s ability to keep the mood in the dressing room light. He recalled how the Mumbai star played pranks on his teammates.
“Till the time Rohit got a chance to play for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy we had just known each other. But our friendship grew when we came to a common point. He was a good mimic and I really like people who can play pranks, and Rohit is among them,” said Ojha.
Whereas, in the IPL 2023, MI will open their camping against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 2. Rohit Sharma and Co will look to start their campaign on a winning note to lift the title for the sixth time, after last season’s failure.
