The next pay-per-view event Clash of Champions that takes place on Sunday, September 15th, 2019. It will air from the Spectrum Center, Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. With still three weeks remaining, WWE is yet to announce the match card of the show. Meanwhile, we are getting reports of two big matches for the night where all the championships will be on the line.
Wrestling Observer Newsletter revealed that Roman Reigns will return to action in pay-per-view event after missing Summerslam 2019. It suggested that he will compete against Daniel Bryan at Clash of Champions. This particular match will not take place over any championship which also starts the rivalry between these two marquee players that is likely to continue for a long time.
As per the ongoing storyline, a mystery attacker has tried to come up with life-threatening attacks to Roman Reigns. Initial footages suspected that Buddy Murphy could be the one as seen in the footages. But as claimed by him, Rowan was the one to do the nasty attack. Daniel Bryan presented a lookalike on this past episode of Smackdown, that Rowan has nothing to with this incident.
But the match between Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns will still happen at Clash of Champions as the creative team wants Bryan to be back in the main event scene. It will also mark the return of The Big Dog in singles competition after WWE decided to sit him out of the Summerslam PPV event. Apart from this, we will receive yet another big championship match on the September PPV event.
The same source also noted that the Intercontinental Championship match will finally be back on PPV match card after a long hiatus. The champion Shinsuke Nakamura will defend it against The Miz after what transpired on this week’s Smackdown. Sami Zayn has become the mouthpiece for The Artist who insisted an attack on the Miz and thereby setting this match up,
“While not announced, Shinsuke Nakamura, managed by Sami Zayn, vs. The Miz for the IC title is on the current schedule.”
WWE has taken slow steps to build up the Clash of Champions match card. So far we have received only one match for the show. Bayley vs. Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship is official for the show whereas we are still waiting for the rest. Another match that is likely to happen is the final of the King of the Ring tournament.
