Last night’s WWE SmackDown opened live from Madison Square Garden in New York City as we saw the packed crowd cheering until the bells started to toll. The lights went out and the music hits to bring out The Undertaker to the ring for a pop. The legendary entrance followed in the venue as the fans continued chanting his name for the time being. The veteran cut a promo on his memories from this special venue throughout his career.

Sami Zayn came out on SmackDown to interrupt The Undertaker claiming that the legendary name already sold out the Madison Square Garden for multiple occasions for the past 30 years. Now it is time for him to leave the spotlight and allow someone younger to step up. Undertaker pretended to leave the ring making Sami Zayn delighted. But the Deadman soon returned to the ring and dropped Zayn with a mammoth Chokeslam. The fans cheered the Phenome as he posed and left the SmackDown arena.

The Undertaker had a deeper connection with the Madison Square Garden for the last 25 years. Over the years, this has been the man who helped to sell out the world’s most famous arena on behalf of WWE on multiple occasions. So when WWE announced its return for multiple TV tapings from The Garden, it was only a matter of moments that they included The Phenome to the show, (courtesy WWE.com)

“The bell tolls for The Undertaker’s first-ever SmackDown LIVE appearance at Madison Square Garden. The Phenom has made plenty of memories before at MSG, including his matchup against Mankind at Survivor Series 1996, his WWE Championship clash with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin at SummerSlam 1998 and his fraternal faceoff with Kane at Wrestlemania XX. What will happen when The Deadman rises again at “The World’s Most Famous Arena” during SmackDown LIVE?”

The primary reason behind calling back The Undertaker was to make Smackdown a sellout. Reports claimed that ticket selling was not good at all that forced WWE to release them at lower prices at the last moment. It was a one-off appearance for the legendary superstar just five-night before Clash of Champions PPV.
