Heading into this week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw the big news was the return of Stone Cold Steve Austin at the infamous Madison Square Garden venue. The legend came back to the show he sold out in the past, after a long time to the delight of the audience. Even the venue itself celebrated the Hall of Famer’s presence after over a decade.

Stone Cold Steve Austin ‘Raises Some Hell’ On WWE Raw From MSG

There’s a certain rumor ongoing before WWE Raw went on air claiming that Stone Cold Steve Austin may not have a pleasant experience at all. The Fiend Bray Wyatt may have his next target set for him. So the speculation was that we will see a vicious attack from the demonic character who have taken out names like Kurt Angle, Jerry Lawler or Mick Foley.

Fortunately, that did not turn out to be the case as WWE appointed Stone Cold Steve Austin in a different segment on WWE Raw. He was there to moderate a contract signing segment between Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman for the Universal Championship at Clash Of Champions.

Meanwhile, Dave Meltzer commented on why The Fiend has stayed away from Stone Cold Steve Austin, on the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio. He indicated that WWE did not want Wyatt to destroy a strong character like Austin to get himself put over. Check out the conversation between Meltzer and his co-host Bryan Alvarez,

Meltzer: He absolutely brought up Steve Austin (during the firefly Fun House segment). I don’t think they would want Steve Austin to put him over.

Bryan Alvarez: Why the hell would he bring it up on Twitter and bring it up basically in a promo on TV? Why do you that if you’re not going to pay it off? Isn’t that Vince McMahon’s big deal? Don’t do things you are not going to pay off.

Matt Hardy’s Wife Responds With Fan Claiming She’d Have S*x With Jeff Hardy!

Meltzer: I don’t know. I don’t have an answer for that. I don’t think it’s a good idea. I wouldn’t do it. I wouldn’t like, trivialize Austin as just being a guy, you know one of those guys. Too strong of a character, because if he does something to Austin, the people would want Austin to get the revenge, not Seth Rollins or Braun Strowman. It doesn’t make sense, honestly to do that. But as far as why he was doing that? Maybe to tease something down the line, who knows. But yeah, he went hard on Austin. He definitely did. He was talking about strangers, right? I’m sure he’s going to do something at the PPV after the Rollins and Strowman match. At least he should.

The potential canceled segment featuring Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Fiend Bray Wyatt will not harm the strong status of the latter one, though. He is set to get a huge championship match at Hell in a Cell as per the recent update. Wyatt confirmed the same during the latest episode of Firefly Funhouse on WWE Raw.

As for Stone Cold Steve Austin, this past episode from Madison Square Garden was all about the legend. He was out for the contract signing segment. Plus, he came out after the huge main event match where Seth Rollins, Braun Strowman, Cedric Alexander and The Viking Raiders defeated the team of Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, AJ Styles, Dolph Ziggler, and Robert Roode. We have seen a celebration thrown inside the ring in true Austin 316 style where beer cans were flying everywhere.
