Indian team eventually qualified for the World Test Championship (WTC) Final, after all the scenarios that were created, that Sri Lanka needs to lose the test or Indian needs to win by that margin, eventually, Men in Blue won by 2-1 in the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2023, while New Zealand won the first Test against Lankan side in the two test match series, which made the qualification possible for Team India in WTC Final 2023.
In BGT 2023, some of the raw talents performed on the bigger stage, with the likes of KS Bharat and Todd Murphy. Former Indian wicketkeeper, Saba Karim believes Bharat should be given more chances in the future.

Ex-Indian wicketkeeper believes Indian team management supports youngster-
“Eventually, that is up to the team management. But I feel the way the Indian team management in the recent past has dealt with youngsters, they have offered them a lot of security,”
“They have created a conducive environment for them to grow. And they have not been very harsh in terms of performances, because they believe that they have invested heavily in a youngster, who has come to this stage and made a debut in a Test match,” stated a former Indian wicketkeeper on the selection of wicketkeeper.
KS Bharat played four test matches as a wicketkeeper for India in this series in the absence of Rishabh Pant who met with a tragic accident last December ruling him out of cricket for an indefinite period.

“I do expect the Indian management to give more chances to KS Bharat. The conditions are extremely challenging, it is not easy for a young wicketkeeper to do well in these conditions. And in some of the Test matches he has been quite good behind the stumps,” he further added.
Bharat was not much impressed with the bat in the four-match series against Australia. In the past, KL Rahul has performed very well in England as he scored a century in Lord’s against England. While the right-handed batter was dropped from India’s side in BGT 2023 for the third test in the favor of in-form Shubman Gill.
In the last test match at Ahmedabad, the 29-year-old scored quickfire 44 runs in 88 balls and gave the proper acceleration to the Indian innings for reaching the 571 mark in the fourth test match of BGT 2023. While the ace Indian opener debuted for India in the longer format of the game in the 2014-15 Australia tour, he scored seven tons for team India in test matches with his last century in 2021 against South Africa in Centurion.
In the IPL 2023, Rahul will be seen captaining Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Bharat will be seen playing for defending champions Gujarat Titans. IPL 16 will begin on 31st March 2023.
India will take on Australia in the 2023 WTC Final at Kensington Oval on June 7, 2023, with a reserve day on June 12. Team India lost the inaugural edition of the WTC Final in 2021 against New Zealand at Southampton.
