WWE Elimination Chamber Result: Sasha Banks & Bayley Wins Women’s Tag Team Titles

One of the major attractions of Elimination Chamber pay-per-view was the women’s division matchup. WWE made a major announcement in January that this match will decide the winners of inaugural women’s tag team champions. This was for only the second time that the women superstars will be stepping into the unforgiving steel cage.

After a hard-fought battle, it was the team of Sasha Banks and Bayley who came out on the top. They were the last team remaining in the match and thereby becoming the first-ever women’s tag team champions. They have created history by winning this Elimination Chamber match that fans will remember for a long time.

The odds were against them as Sasha Banks and Bayley had to start the match. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville were standing against them. We want to mention the full lineup of this Elimination Chamber match in this context. It was Nia Jax and Tamina vs. Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose vs. The IIconics (Peyton Royce and Billie Kay) vs. Sasha Banks and Bayley vs. Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan vs. Naomi and Carmella.

Sasha Banks and Bayley started the match with Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. The IIconics and The Riott Squad soon joined them in the ring. Surprisingly Naomi and Carmella followed them up only to find out themselves out of the mix. Naomi hit a springboard hip attack but got caught up in a roll-up from the IIconics for elimination.

Nia Jax and Tamina entered the match to create a ruckus among the ladies inside the Elimination Chamber. They first eliminated IIconics via A Samoan Drop. Moments later, Tamina delivered a frog splash to show the doors to the Riotts. Nia was going after Bayley but went through the chamber pod in the process.

This allowed Bayley to connect with an elbow drop on Tamina for another elimination. Sonya Deville had a miscommunication with her partner Mandy Rose and hit a spear. Sasha Banks came from behind to lock in the Bank Statement. Deville tapped out giving away the win to Sasha Banks and Bayley. These two will now claim the achievement of becoming the first-ever women’s tag team champions at Elimination Chamber.

We hope that WWE has some big plans around the women’s tag team titles following Elimination Chamber. Wrestlemania 35 should host a huge match around these with veteran teams returning. The belief is that teams like The Bella Twins or Trish Stratus and Lita will come back to challenge the existing champions forming a dream match.

Even if the veterans do not return, we expect the competitions to remain extremely high around women’s tag team titles. This will be the only title present in the WWE, having the reach for both Raw and Smackdown superstars. It means women from both the brands will be competing over these titles creating some fresh lineups.
