WWE Mixed Match Challenge Results From Second Playoff: December 4, 2018
Mixed Match Challenge concluded its second playoff stage, last night. Two teams from WWE Raw have already qualified for the semi-finale as seen on last week. Team Mahalicia (Jinder Mahal-Alicia Fox) was the first team to secure their spot. The second team to do so was Team B n B (Finn Balor and Bayley) defeating Country Dominance.
So it came down to four teams from Smackdown to keep their existence in this exciting tournament. The first match of the night happened between Jeff Hardy-Charlotte Flair against Team Fabulous Truth (R-Truth-Carmella). The first team is the absolute favorite to win the entire tournament. The second team’s situation was not so good. They could think himself to be fortunate enough to be able to make it to the playoffs.
But eventually, they pulled off the biggest shocker of this season’s Mixed Match Challenge, season II. They picked up a surprise win against the favorite duo to advance to the semi-final round. The contest started without any shenanigans. Jeff Hardy and Truth went back and forth before Hardy showed some of his dance moves. The crowd cheered a lot to this as Charlotte Flair got the tag from her. Charlotte wanted to hit Carmella hard who screamed trying to dodge the shot.
Truth and Carmella went to call a dance break into the match. But Flair and Hardy came up with a subsequent attack. Charlotte Flair mocked Truth with some dance moves before Carmella hurled her into the canvas. Truth tried to pin Hardy but Flair broke the attempt. Jeff Hardy set Truth for the Swanton Bomb but Carmella laid on Truth preventing Hardy from performing the move. Charlotte took out Carmella outside the ring as Hardy performed the aerial move. But Truth moved and rolled him for the shocking victory!
Team Awe-ska (The Miz-Asuka) featured in the second match of the night. Their opponents were Team Day One Glow (Jimmy Uso-Naomi). The real-life couple brought the fight to the season I winner of the Mixed Match Challenge. The two ladies started the contest before tagging in their respective male partners. Miz controlled this part of the match refusing to tag in Asuka as he does not trust her partner, anymore.
This started a heated confrontation between the two of them allowing Jimmy to tag back Naomi into the match. Miz saved the match breaking a pin attempt from Naomi. Jimmy Uso took the fight to the Miz outside the ring. Asuka put Jimmy down with a shot and put the Asuka Lock onto Naomi to close the Mixed Match Challenge playoffs.
