WWE News: John Cena To Get A New Gimmick Following Return On TV

John Cena has returned to the WWE from December 26th onwards. His comeback match happened at the Madison Square Garden show on December 26th. He defeated Baron Corbin successfully in this contest. Following that night, he competed against Daniel Bryan inside a steel cage match for the WWE Championship. Going forward, we will see him performing in a number of episodes of WWE Raw and Smackdown Live.

Although he may not compete at Royal Rumble, the trusted shoulder of the WWE will be there to pull up the TV ratings in January 2019. He’s always been doing this, throughout his career. Debuting in 2002, John Cena has always been the Golden Goose of the company. Nobody carried WWE’s flag more like this man before going to Hollywood. It’s not a matter of joke to remain the franchise player for over a decade.

John Cena has done that successfully and earned a nickname of ‘Greatest of All Time”. Now, Cagesideseats.com has reported that WWE will use this as a moniker when he comes back on WWE TV. From now onwards, the 16-time world champion will be referred to as the ‘Greatest of All Time’ on WWE programming. This means WWE aka Vince McMahon is proud to acknowledge the fact.

We have seen a glimpse of the same when Vince McMahon announced the return of John Cena on WWE Raw. He mentioned the poster boy as the ‘greatest of all time’. Michael Cole, the voice of the WWE often mentions this on his own behalf on WWE TV. But this seems a clear reflection of McMahon’s instruction from the back.

Additionally, Vince McMahon himself was present at Madison Square Garden to introduce his favorite superstar. He made a rare appearance on a WWE Live Event just to call out John Cena’s name. A remarkable thing from his speech was that he mentioned of Cena having more MSG moments in future. So he would eventually surpass legends like Hulk Hogan and Bruno Sammartino. At one point, it would automatically make him as the ‘Greatest of All Time.

Currently, the Cenation Leader will be seen in a number of episodes of WWE Raw and Smackdown Live. But he may leave just prior to Royal Rumble. Hollywood commitments might not give him enough room to continuing this stint for a longer span.
