WWE News: Update On AJ Styles’ Injury Following Wrestlemania 35

A classic battle emanated from the MetLife Stadium at Wrestlemania 35 in the second match spot. It was a tough spot for superstars to fit in as they have to set the mood for the fans. AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton happened in this slot to pull off an incredible bout that became a standard bearer for rest of the night.

WWE Raw main-eventer suffered an injury this week

AJ Styles was the name who had the last laugh by delivering a Phenomenal Forearm that should have made the fans happy. However, the babyface superstar from Smackdown could not make the fans in attendance much happier as a huge light spot made a portion of the audience, completely blinded. Even the superstars involved in the match apologized for this mishap.

Randy Orton posted on Instagram feeling sorry for the fans whereas AJ Styles gave a similar status for them on Twitter. However, he did not speak up about the speculated injury status that made him unavailable on WWE’s weekly shows. He was not present on either of Raw or Smackdown fuelling up the rumor that he is out of commission.

PWInsider.com was the first source who reported the injury following Wrestlemania 35. They revealed that it is probably a hip injury that he is dealing with. Now Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that AJ Styles is indeed going through a hip injury. But the severity of the injury is yet to be officially confirmed. This is the sole reason why he missed WWE programming.

There’s no update of when we can expect AJ Styles to come back on Smackdown. The Superstar Shakeup is coming back on in programming on next week where the entire roster should be present. It will be interesting to see whether WWE includes him in the process. Of not so then it will be an indirect hint of accepting the injury suffered by the former WWE Champion.

WWE had to pull out AJ Styles from a post-Wrestlemania Axxess in the New York City. The fans who paid to see him will get a refund in due course. They also got an alternate choice to meet Kofi Kingston if not willing to get the refund. But it’s obviously hard to fill up the void of the ‘champ that runs the camp’. He recently re-signed a new WWE contract which ensures that he will come back, for sure.
