The New Day – WWE Champion Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods competed against SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Revival, Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder in the opening contest of SmackDown Live. Orton hit the ring-draped DDT and tagged in his partners to hit the RKO Machine on Kofi. But E sent Orton to the ring post. Kofi hit the Trouble in Paradise on Dawson to pick up the win.

After the match, The New Day celebrated until Brock Lesnar’s music hits. Lesnar and Paul Heyman came to the stage for a pop. Heyman issued a challenge to Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship during the SmackDown Fox premiere on Friday, October 4th. Kofi accepted it only to digest an F-5 from the Conqueror. The heel duo double-teamed on Flair until Carmella made the save. She delivered a Superkick on Banks whereas Flair landed a big boot on Bayley to stand tall.

Barin Corbin came out on SmackDown to celebrate his win at the King Of The Ring tournament finale. He called out Chad Gable to mock him about the short heights. The jokes continued until Gable attacked Corbin on the throne. He smashed the sceptre on the back of Corbin and destroyed other equipment kept in the ring. Gable then tore the KOTR robes before breaking the crown leaving Corbin in a teary state.

Heavy Machinery vs. The B Team was the next lineup on SmackDown Live where the duo of Axel and Dallas double-teamed on Tucker until he came back with a clothesline. Daniel Bryan appeared in the main event segment of SmackDown Live to cut a promo on how Rowan turned his back on him. He asked Rowan to come out as the big man confronted him in the ring. Harper appeared from the back and attacked Bryan. The two started double-teaming on Bryan until Roman Reigns came out and delivered a Superman Punch on Rowan and right-hand on Harper. He delivered the Drive-By on Rowan to turn into a big boot from Harper. They delivered a powerbomb on Reigns on the ring post before driving him through the barricade wall. Harper and Rowan put Bryan through the announcers’ table with a double-chokeslam to end the show.
