Indian wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt, who could have enjoyed the news of being elevated from a Bronze medallist to a silver medallist, has again won our hearts with his generosity. He took on social media platform Twitter to react on the matter and wrote “Please let his family keep the silver medal; it would be respectful for his family to keep the medal. For me humanitarian sensation is paramount”.
This shows that he has a clean heart and has an utmost request for humanity. Medals and prizes are of secondary to him.
Yogeshwar showered praises on Beck and continued to write “Beck was a superb server, failing a dope test after death is sad. I respect him as a player”. wrote Yogeshwar in his last tweet.
Besik Kudukhov, who defeated Yogeshwar in 2012 London Olympics died in a car accident just a year after winning the silver medal at the London Olympics 2012. He was just 27 then. After a period of 3 years, his samples were again tested before Rio Olympics 2016; his samples were found positive for the banned substance. According to the guidelines, he will b stripped off to the silver medal and Yogeshwar will get the silver medal. But now Yogeshwar has shown an utmost respect for humanity and has suggested if the medal can remain with his family.
Yogeshwar Dutt is yet to get a final call from authority regarding this matter.
