After an off-day, the Kabaddi action resumed in Hyderabad, as Dabanag Delhi took on Gujarat Fortunegiants in match seven of the three-months long league Vivo Pro Kabaddi League 2017.
The first half totally belong to the debutants Gujarat, as the new team managed to take a huge 10 points lead, with the scorecard showing 15-5 in favor of Gujarat. The captain of Delhi, Iranian international Meraj Sheykh spent most of the time outside the mat, which played a major role in Delhi’s downfall.
Gujarat managed to complete two all-out, which resulted in Gujarat’s victory. It was poor team management from Delhi’s part, they just were not in the game with their head, as most of the tactics used by Delhi did not make any sense.
In the second half, Delhi tried to make a comeback but it was too late for the capital team, as the point deficit was way too much. The bright side for Delhi in this match was one of their debutants R. Sriram who played a major role in getting the team a point, in what looked like a big defeat at the beginning of the second half.
In the end, it was all too late for Delhi, as Gujarat started off their campaign with a six point victory over Delhi. The final score was Gujarat-26 and Delhi-20.
