The second game of the opening day saw the two teams from Maharashtra face-off against each other. Anup Kumar’s U Mumba were out performed completely by the Puneri Paltan.

The team from Mumbai won the toss and gave Pune the chance to raid first but from the start of the match, Deepak Niwas Hooda’s team kept the pressure on and made life tough for their opponents.

Puneri Paltan’s captain got the best raider award, whereas the veteran of the game Deepak Narwal got the player of the match award for his outstanding performance, which gave Pune a rocking start to the season five of Vivo Pro Kabaddi League 2017.

Captain cool of Kabaddi, Anup Kumar couldn’t inspire his team in the first game but he will have many more chances in the three-month long tournament, where each team will feature in 22 games before the final four teams are decided out of the 12 participants.

Unlike the first game, Mumbai failed to get any point, as the margin of the defeat was more than seven points, as Puneri Paltan beat U Mumba 33-21. It was a great start to the tournament, as Hyderabad crowd was greeted with two great matches.
