Rio Olympics opening ceremony

The 31st Olympics will start from tomorrow. The opening ceremony will be held on 6th August at 4.30 AM (IST) onwards. After so much hard work, Brazil is ready to host 207 countries and more than 10,000 athletes who will take part in the Rio Olympics.

The venue for the opening ceremony is Maracana Stadium, Rio de Janerio. The venue underwent a major reconstruction for the Rio Olympics. It has a capacity of 78,000. The Opening ceremony will go on till three hours and will display the Brazilian culture.

The telecast of the Opening ceremony will be streamed live on Star Sports network in English and Hindi. It will be also live on hot star and star sports website

During the Parade, India are 95th in order while Greece will come first to come out. The hosts Brazil will enter last in a parade of nations. 207 teams will walk in the Maracana Stadium including Refugee Olympic Athletes. For India, Abhinav Bindra will be the flag bearer.

The Opening ceremony will include Parade of nations, the Olympic oath, hoisting of each nation’s flag and flaming of Olympic torch. The President of IOA, President Thomas Barch will give a speech.

The opening ceremony will have 300 professional dancers and 5,000 volunteers taking part in various acts. The director of the opening ceremony is famous Brazilian director Fernando Meirelles, who has directed the City of God and The constant Gardener.

Football legend Pele will flame the Olympics torch. It will be a grand opening ceremony. Brazil supermodel Gisele Bundchen, Victoria’s Secret Model ,Transgender model Lea T and other notable stars include singer Anita, Catetano, and Gilbert Gil will light the stadium with their performances.

Other notable persons include French President, Argentina President , Italian President, and UN Secretary General Ki-Moon.
