Ferrer loses to compatriot Lopez in Shanghai Masters
Shanghai (China), Oct 11 (IANS) Spanish tennis player David Ferrer was beaten by compatriot Feliciano Lopez in the first round of Shanghai Rolex Masters here on Tuesday.
The intense clash ended with a victory for Lopez by 7-6 (3), 4-6, 7-6 (4) after two and a half hours,reports Efe.
Ferrer, world no. 15, did not expect early elimination in Shanghai, especially after making it to the semifinals in Beijing, before he was defeated by Scotsman Andy Murray.
Lopez, world no. 28, will follow this tough clash with a match against the winner between US Jack Sock and Argentine Guido Pella.
