Rafael Nadal who is in New Delhi now to participate in the International Premier Tennis League (ITPL) has opened a tennis clinic named after him. And during his media conference, the 14-time Grand Slam winner informed he also would not hesitate to extend his coaching centers all around India in future.
When asked whether he gave any message towards the children during his one-hour stint with them at the coaching center, Nadal said, “I said them to start dreaming.
“Unless you dream of being a star in your profession you cannot succeed. I told the children, in my childhood I used to dream of playing tennis in the center courts of all Grand Slam tournaments.
“And that dream forced me to work hard and harder every day.”
The Spanish superstar also added saying,“You have to be honest to yourself. Otherwise you will not be able to achieve.”
And immediately after making these comments Rafael Nadal looked stepping onto the court with his hitting partner, coach Tony Nadal for hours. Even for an exhibition tennis match which he also won in the late evening Nadal practiced tirelessly with his uncle coach. And Nadal, having a lot of praise for his childhood coach, Tony said, “Nowadays there has been a trend where players are often changing their coaches. But I have been lucky to have a coach like my uncle whose relentless work on me since my childhood has made me today’s Rafael Nadal.”
