Top 5 Contenders for the Men’s singles crown for the 2015 Australian Open 

The Australian Open and the first Grand Slam of the year is almost here. Will we have a new Men’s Champion with Rafael Nadal back from injury ow will Stanislas wawrinka retain his crown? Can either of Roger Federer or Novak Djokovic get their hands on the famed prize or will Andy Murray spring a surprise?

Here are Sportzwiki’s top 5 men contenders for the title.

Novak Djokovic: The world No. 1 and the four time Australian Open champion is the top contender for the title as he is the most consistent player at the Open. Djokovic has been the least injury prone player and a strong hard court player , his consistency over all surfaces makes him the strongest player for the title. 
Rafael Nadal: Finishing up as runner up last year after a very good Australian Open campaign Rafa would be for sure looking forward to win the title this year. Nadal is back after a few months due to injuries and managed to win a doubles titles at Doha .The spaniard’s consistency at  the Aus Open and undoubted talent makes him  a very strong contender. Nadal would be looking to practice more and more to bring his A game in play. Rafa is 3rd seed at the Open and has a comparatively tougher then others. 
Roger Federer: Federer has had some consistent from the end of previous season compared to other previous seasons. Federer goes the into Australian Open winning a title at Brisbane where he defeated Dimitrov in finals and also rached the landmark of 1000 wins at the tournament . Federer is in good form but injuries and consistency have been a major scare for the Swiss Ace. Federer is seeded 2nd at the Open.
Stan Wawrinka: Wawrinka goes into the Australian Open as the defending champion and the 4th seed. Wawrinka takes a lot of confidence with him in the Australian Open as he won his consecutive Chennai Open title at the start of the season and he is also the defending champion. Wawrinka has a strong overall game with a stronger backhand and all  the confidence makes the defending champion a strong contender for the title. 
Kei Nishikori: This young player is no doubt one of the top contenders for the Australian Open this year. He seeds 5th at the Australian Open and for sure has the capabilities to trouble the giants of the game. He has full potential to win a Grand Slam and plays very well on the hard court. Nishikori last year had an exit in the 4th round where he  lost a well played match to Rafael Nadal. Watch out for this young and talented player.
