Afghanistan Cricket team skipper Asghar Afghan feels MS Dhoni didn’t enjoy the swashbuckling century from Mohammad Shahzad during their clash against India.
Meanwhile, India and Afghanistan clashed in one of the most exciting encounters in the recent times. The game swung from one end to the other as no team deserved to lose on the day.
However, Mohammad Shahzad was the hero for his team who hammered 124 runs in front of his idol, MS Dhoni. However, Asghar Afghan feels that the veteran didn’t enjoy his knock much from behind the stumps.

Shahzad carried the batting unit on his shoulders as he accumulated 68.8% of the first 180 runs scored by Afghanistan. So much so, that until the 26th over of the innings no other batsman had scored a boundary. He single-handedly lifted Afghanistan to a sizeable 252 for 8 at the halfway stage.

“Hum bhi bahut enjoy rahe the … Mere khayaal mean MS ne enjoy nahin kiya kyunki usko maar pad rahi thi udhar … toh humne bahut enjoy kiya. (We enjoyed his innings, but I don’t think MS enjoyed it because he [sic India] were getting hit around the ground, but we really enjoyed it), he said with a smile on his face,” Afghan said at the post-match press conference.
Afghanistan’s Asia Cup has ended while India stays back in Dubai for Friday’s final. Pakistan and Bangladesh will square off in a virtual semi-final clash to set up a pinnacle clash with India.
