New Zealand vs West Indies, Second Test, Seddon Park, Hamilton 

West Indies was bowled out for 221 in the first innings of the second Test at Seddon Park in Hamilton. Stand in Captain Kraigg Braithwaite top scored with 66 runs and was the only Windies batsmen to go past 50. Sunil Ambris was dismissed hit wicket for the second time in three innings. For New Zealand, Tim Southee, Trent Boult, Neil Wagner and Colin De Grandhomme picked up two wickets each.

New Zealand in their second innings declared at 291/8 courtesy, Ross Taylor who scored his 17th Test century which took him level with Martin Crowe on the list of most centuries by a Kiwi. New Zealand declared when they had extended their lead to 443. Miguel Cummins took two wickets in the second innings for the Windies. Windies were 30/2 at stumps with Kraigg Braithwaite and Shai Hope at the crease.

India vs Sri Lanka, First ODI, HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala

Sri Lanka won the first ODI by seven wickets and took a 1-0 lead in the three match series in Dharamsala. Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bowl first in the first ODI and Sri Lanka had a new captain in the form of Thisara Perera and he had a fantastic start to his rejuvenated career a player and as a captain as his team pulled of a huge victory over world number one India. Suranga Lakmal was adjudged the man of the match for his exceptional effort with the ball. Lakmal bowled 10 overs on the trot, bowling four maidens, giving away 13 runs and picked up four wickets. Only three Indian batsmen touched double figures, MS Dhoni (65), Kuldeep Yadav (19) and Hardik Pandya (10).

Hockey World League, Bhubaneswar

Australia lifted their back to back Hockey world league title as they defeated Argentina 2-1 in the final on Sunday.

India on the other hand defeated Germany 2-1 to win the bronze medal.

Manchester Derby

Manchester City extended their lead to 11 points as they defeated their closest rivals in the league 2-1 in the first Manchester Derby of the season. David Silva opened the innings for City in the 43rd minute but Marcus Rashford equalized in the first half stoppage time.  Nicolas Otamendi found the winner in the second half to give City the victory.
