AEW Dynamite: Adam Cole made his in-ring debut
Speaking of AEW Dynamite, former WWE NXT Champion Adam Cole made his AEW in-ring debut on this week’s episode by competing against Frankie Kazarian. Cole picked up the pinfall win after hitting the Panama Sunrise and then finishing him off with the Last Shot.
After the match, Cole called out Christian Cage and Jurassic Express, challenging them to a six-man tag match at next Friday’s Rampage where he’ll team up with The Young Bucks. Earlier this month, Cole made his first appearance with AEW at All Out PPV after becoming a free agent following Summerslam 2021. After joining AEW, he has aligned himself with his old friends in The Elite.
In more news from AEW Dynamite, we witnessed the return of “The American Nightmare”, Cody Rhodes. This was the first time that fans have seen Cody on the AEW TV ring since August when he suffered a loss to Malakai Black and thereby teased his retirement.
Cody’s return came after Malakai Black came to the ring alone in a black, hooded robe. He then pointed out that popular actress, Cody’s co-judge on the Go Big Show on TBS, Rosario Dawson, was sitting at ringside. As Rosario faced Black in the ring, Cody made his AEW Dynamite return and went physical with Black. The two brawled through the crowd hyping up their scheduled match on AEW Grand Slam, next week.
