AEW Grand Slam will be hosted in a grand way, next week from the Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York. The special episode on TNT TV has now received a main event match where the AEW World Champion will be in action. None but the latest inclusion to All Elite Wrestling, Daniel Bryan will compete in the match as his opponent, setting up a dream match lineup.
As seen on this week’s AEW Dynamite episode, the former WWE Champion made his second consecutive appearance on the show. AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and Bryan Danielson met face-to-face in the ring, yet again in that segment where Omega ended up accepting Danielson’s challenge for a match to determine who is the better between the two of them.
Possible Reason Behind Big E Becoming New WWE Champion
Bryan first made his appearance by walking down to the ring to a huge pop from the crowd. He was shortly interrupted by Kenny Omega and Don Callis, who went on to insult Bryan’s character. Bryan insulted Callis right back and demanded to Omega, directly.
He then explained to Omega that this isn’t about competing for that World Championship at this time, and he just wants to have a match to see who is the better of the two. Kenny hesitated at first but answered with a, “Yes” and thereby making the match official for AEW Grand Slam.
Speaking of the huge event from next week, former WWE World Champion Chris Jericho will be in action on that night as she teams up with Jake Hager (ex WWE Star Jack Swagger) to compete against Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky. On this week’s Dynamite, the match was confirmed where Jericho went on to take a jab at Brock Lesnar and Goldberg.
Jon Moxley (fka Dean Ambrose in WWE) and Eddie Kingston vs. Lance Archer and Minoru Suzuki has been officially added to next Wednesday’s AEW Grand Slam show in New York. MJF vs. Brian Pillman Jr. match has also been confirmed after the two traded words on the latest Dynamite episode. Sting will compete in a tag team match on the upcoming episode while AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker will also defend against Ruby Soho on that night.
