This past week on Monday Night Raw, the current Divas champion AJ Lee cut a promo on the rest of the divas who are featuring on the E!’s reality show ‘Total Divas’ after the match between Brie Bella and Natalya Neidhart. He called all of them totally useless and absolute garbage. Though the promo was scripted but it has shed real reactions from many wrestlers. Many big names of wrestling such as Mick Foley responded to this promo.
This promo proved how good AJ Lee actually was. Most of the fans believe this is the best promo cut by a diva in the history of professional wrestling. AJ Lee is definitely special. She has all the potentials to climb the top of success and surpass all the big names of all the current and former WWE divas.
This ‘Anti Diva’ gimmick of AJ Lee is pretty much interesting. Her recent feuds with Dolph Ziggler and Kaytlin were good. Most importantly, she was better part of these feuds. Her anti diva gimmick is slowly making her better diva than everyone else.
Many of the media sources claim that this promo will lead to AJ Lee vs. one of the divas from the Total Divas at the Night of Champions and they also say that it was shot for the season 2 of Total Divas. But surprisingly, it has created a different environment.
The Bella Twins responded to this promo on twitter by saying;
AJ remember you would be nothing if WWE didn’t partner you up with every top guy. Try being a diva that makes it on your own. #RAW
Former WWE diva Maris Kanellis who recently gave a very controversial comment on twitter about the Bella Twins replied to this tweet of the Bella Twins;
@nicoleandbri really on your own? You 2 are the “fluffers” of the locker room. And you held back 3 other girls from getting contracts.
Here is what ‘The Hardcore Legend’ Mick Foley said on his blog;
I know many people look at Bri and Nikki and see two beautiful women who have been given their spot in the company due to their beauty and choice in boyfriends.
That’s not what I see when I look at Bri and Nikki. I see two strong, proud women who walked away from WWE in April 2012 following a legitimate business disagreement with the company. Bri and Nikki wanted to have more say in what they could and could not do outside of WWE. The company disagreed. I know that feeling. I’ve been there.
Wrestling is all scripted, we all know that, but the wrestlers who can make things feel like reality, they are actually doing their jobs better than anyone.
Without any doubt this promo has brought a high recognition for AJ Lee and we are really looking forward to see where it lies next.
