WWE RAW Superstar Asuka has been absent from WWE TV since the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match at the July 18 pay-per-view. WWE has never provided any update over her status while the absence did leave a big void on the red brand. During the pandemic era of the WWE, it was the Japanese superstar who carried the load on the red brand.

Now that the fans are back in attendance, they can’t enjoy Asuka’s quick-fire moves which raised eyebrows. Earlier this week, she shared a picture of herself in an arm brace, pretty much confirming that she’s been out of action due to injury.

The former WWE Raw Women’s Champion revealed on Twitter that she “finally got new teeth” after losing them six months ago. It was back in March of this year that she underwent dental surgery. At that point, it was also revealed that it would take six months for her teeth to completely heal from the dental injury. Originally, that injury occurred when Shayna Baszler kicked her in the mouth during a tag team match on the February 22 episode of RAW.

But due to that incident, Asuka never missed any TV time, leading up to Wrestlemania 37. She dropped the Raw Women’s Championship to Rhea Ripley and since then got written off WWE TV after she failed to recapture the Money in the Bank briefcase.

It was noted in early August by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Asuka was just not being used since the creative team doesn’t have anything for her right now. An injury wasn’t revealed to be the reason for her absence.

Later, the Empress of Tomorrow herself offered a clarification to the story by issuing the following statement,

“Nothing has been revealed. That information is totally wrong. Really different. Completely different. Everything is different. I would like to ask the information provider. Don’t make a fake story.”

As it seems, Asuka is dealing with an undisclosed injury, as of now which is the reason that WWE has been forced to keep her out of action. There’s no confirmation available on whether she will begin working non-televised WWE live events soon, or be back on RAW in due course.
