Last week on Friday Night Smackdown Daniel Bryan squared off against the WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns in a title vs. career match. ‘The Tribal Chief’ defeated Daniel Bryan to not only retain his championship but terminated Daniel Bryan’s career too.
According to rumors, Roman Reigns will compete with Cesaro and his former tag team partner Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal title. Rumors also suggest that Roman Reigns will not drop the title in the process as the former 11 times WWE World Champion and WWE Hall of Famer Edge will return to seek his championship rematch. And Roman will defend the title against the Rated R Superstar at Summerslam.

Daniel Bryan Revealed That He “Wrecked” His Neck During SmackDown Tag Team Match
And about Daniel Bryan, the story was broken even before WrestleMania 37 that Bryan would not continue wrestling after Mania and this must have been the booking to take Bryan off of the wrestling screen, which is a good piece of booking, to be honest.
Before he competed in the title vs. career match this week on Smackdown, he spoke with TVLine where he revealed that he ‘wrecked’ his neck during a tag team match in Smackdown. The former 5 times WWE World Champion said;
“It’s funny that people gravitate towards the date “September,” and I think it’s because that’s when my last contract ended, but it doesn’t end in September. I’m still trying to figure out what that looks like… I had a tag team match on SmackDown last Friday, and it was a lot of fun, but my neck was just wrecked. I’m going to be 40 in May and my daughter likes to get on my shoulders to pick leaves from a Japanese maple in front of our house [and he couldn’t this time due to the pain].
“You get to that point where it’s like, how long can I do this full-time and still be able to do those kinds of things with my daughter? What’s the right balance between part-time and that sort of thing? It may be that it’s just every once in a while when the urge strikes, or maybe like a schedule where it’s like eight months on, these months off.”
WWE, especially Smackdown would definitely feel a little incomplete without Daniel Bryan after everything he did for the Friday Night Show. We hope he comes out of this decision he made and he would start wrestling in WWE again soon.
