A heel turn for John Cena has been a wish for billions of wrestling fans for ages. But in eighteen years, it never came true. A lot of fans do not know this but John Cena actually played a heel role for almost a year back in 2003, when he was still a nobody.
Cena was excellent at his heel run and this has been one of the biggest reasons why a lot of WWE fans wanted him as a heel. Cena playing the evil role at his prime always remained the biggest wish of the fans. A lot of haters hated Cena for this sole reason too; because he never turned heel.
Did WWE Ever Consider Turning John Cena Heel? – Revealed By Jim Ross
But the question is; did WWE ever considered a heel turn for Cena? In eighteen years time, there had been a lots of ups and downs in the situation, but Cena never turned heel. Even though it looked almost imminent during Cena’s epic rivalry with the Rock. But did not happen, it never did.
‘The Good Old’ Jim Ross recently took on this matter by focusing on this possibility. During a recent episode of the Grilling jR, he said;
“I never was involved in any serious discussions with Vince about it. We’d sometimes chuckle about it because it was like a remnant holdover from the Attitude Era. I don’t think we ever had any serious discussion about it. We might chuckle about it, or Vince and I may talk about the audience and how the audience is changing. It was in front of our very eyes into what we see today. People are very outspoken. It was never a big issue, quite frankly.”
If Cena wants to play a heel role right now, he is very much ready for it. He is only 44 and by looking at his physique, we can easily predict that he can go through five or six years run comfortably if he wishes. But there is a fat chance of Cena coming back into action for full time ever again.
