Former two times WWE World Champion Drew McIntyre who is also a former two times WWE Tag Team Champion recently revealed his current focus on working in WWE.
McIntyre made his WWE main roster debut in 2009 after spending one successful year in the Florida Championship Wrestling which was the development Territory of WWE back then. In this one year time period, McIntyre won the FCW World Heavyweight Championship one time.
Drew McIntyre Reveals His Current Focus
After making the main roster debut in 2009 he won the WWE Intercontinental Championship very early. He started having an undefeated run until it was finally beaten by the Big Red Machine Kane. He was portrayed as The Chosen One by Vince McMahon. He was actually very much a favourite of Vince, he really believed in McIntyre.
But ultimately it was understood that he was not ready for the push he was receiving. As a result he was promoted to a jobber role. And in 2014 he was released by WWE. In 2017 he returned to WWE again after spending three years on the independent circuit and some other promotions as well. Since then he is going really strong.
He won the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 36 after earning the spot in the main event of the show by winning the Royal Rumble match in the same year. He dropped the title at Hell in a Cell to Randy Orton only to win it back in only two weeks’ times again.
Drew McIntyre who is a former two times WWE Tag Team Champion recently during his appearance on The Bump of WWE where he revealed his current focus on working in WWE. He said;
“After having 21 years of obstacles, of all the downs… Yeah, my size is always at the top. I always want to face the absolute best. Whoever is the champion is the best; it’s that simple.
“I’ve had to wait months and months to fight the champion once again, Big E. When it comes to the top of the heap in WWE, the biggest name is Roman Reigns, but my attention is not on him right now. My attention is on Big E.”
