Former WWE star and former WWE NXT Tag Team Champion Fandango who is currently active on the independent circuit recently revealed that no professional wrestling promotion like AEW or Impact Wrestling reached out on him after his release from the WWE.

Fandango can be considered as one of the homegrown talents of WWE. He was founded by WWE back in 2006. Even though he was an active wrestler of the independent circuit before that. He started his professional wrestling carier back in 1996  and he walked on the independent circuit for 7 long years before she was founded by WWE in 2006 as mentioned before. After joining WWE he started working on the Deep South Wrestling which was a development Territory of WWE back in the time.

After remaining active for two years on the Deep South Wrestling, he was sent to work on the Florida Championship Wrestling which was also a development Territory of WWE. He spent to more years on the Florida Championship Wrestling and he won the FCW Tag Team Championship 2 times in total. After he was done with Florida Championship Wrestling, he was sent to the NXT where he also spent two years. Needless to say it was also a development territory of WWE.

In late 2012 he finally came to the main roster of WWE where he was given a gimmick of a ballroom dancer. He was given an instant push after his main roster debut. He defeated Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 29 which was a huge push. But things did not work out pretty well for him. WWE tried to keep him attractive nothing worked. Finally on June this year he was released by WWE. A lot of fans believe that his gimmick was his biggest setback, he was never meant to be taken seriously because of his gimmick.

Fandango who is currently active on the independent circuit recently spoke to Asylum Wrestling Store where he revealed that no professional wrestling promotion like AEW or Impact Wrestling reached out on him after his release from the WWE. He said;

“Yeah, I thought about both of those companies. They haven’t really reached out to me. But I’ve spoken to some other companies and other companies as well. But, you know, I think maybe in the next year so just kind of a character change, you know, by landing on a different TV show.

“Kind of mix it up a little bit. I’m 38. I plan on retiring at around 40. So, right now, it’s pretty much just having fun and doing some independents and getting to see some of my buddies from WWE that I haven’t seen in a couple of years and if I end up on TV somewhere, then [that’s] even better, you know?”
