John Cena Expresses His Respect For Ric Flair
He did have a short spell in WWE during the early 90s and he had been treated as a main event star in this short run of him in WWE. He won the WWF World Heavyweight Championship two times in total and also won the Royal Rumble match of 1992 which was scheduled for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship on that occasion.
In 2002 he made his return to WWE after having his last spell in WCW. This time he was mostly treated as a manager and a part time wrestler. He had been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame two times in total, in 2008 he was inducted individually, and in 2012 he was inducted as a member of the Four Horsemen.
John Cena who is a record breaking former 16 times WWE World champion recently spoke to the Whiskey Ginger podcast where he expressed his love and respect for Ric Flair and said The Nature Boy had so much energy. He said;
“I don’t think there’s a comparison, Ric Flair. He just has so much energy. Also, he’s got such a tremendous lust for life, and I’m drawn to that. I’m drawn to people who love life. There is a tipping point where it becomes counterproductive. You don’t want to live like today is your last day. It could be, but I try to find a little bit of balance.
“He was always great. Pat Patterson was always great. The late Pat Patterson was always great, because these guys, not only are there because they want to socialize and share, they have all this fucking wisdom, and they’re not — Ric especially, and Pat, they weren’t jaded.
“Ric still isn’t jaded. We all have bad days, but he loves it. So he’s not one of those guys who will drink and be like, ‘Fuck this. You don’t understand. They fucked me, and this is how they fucked me.’ Like, I just whoever that element was, it just never went around. I just always gravitated toward people who are having a good time.”
