WWE Raw star and a former WWE United States champion Matt Riddle who is also a former WWE Raw Tag Team Champion recently talked about working with Randy Orton and how much he loved it. He also said that he enjoyed working as a singles wrestler as well.
Matt Riddle started working with Randy Orton after WrestleMania 37. At first they had a series of matches before becoming a tag team. But in a very short amount of time the team became extremely famous and together they were famously started to be known as The RK-Bro.
Matt Riddle Says He Loves Working With Randy Orton
The famous duo won their first Tag Team Championship gold add the SummerSlam pay per view event after they defeated the previous champions AJ Styles and Omos. They dropped the title to the Alpha Academy on January only to regain the championships at March. There had been some good series of events.
They successfully retained their championships at WrestleMania 38 but in May, they dropped the championships to the Usos. Since then they never got to feud for the Tag Team Championship because Randy Orton remained out. But Riddle continued to have single feud and his recent few with Seth Rollins became really popular.
Matt Riddle who is also a former WWE Raw Tag Team Champion recently spoke to DC & RC where he talked about working with Randy Orton and how much he loved it. He also said that he enjoyed working as a singles wrestler as well. He said;
“Yeah. You know, it definitely does [the opportunity to get back to being a singles talent shows he’s more than an attachment to Randy Orton]. Don’t get me wrong, with Randy, I had opportunities with Roman [Reigns], stuff like that, especially when Randy was gone. But, I think at the end of the day, that story with Randy, I enjoyed it and I felt like I got to build a relationship and a reputation with the WWE.
“But now I think with Hunter in play and now being a singles competitor without Randy, getting more competitive, getting meaner, getting angrier. You can see it in the promos, you can see it in the Street Fights, you can see it in the brawls and like you [Corey Graves] said, instead of being a goofy sidekick who helps elevate his partner and his partner elevates him, now I’m coming into my own as a mainstay single competitor in the WWE.
“I’m getting that respect as well. Not necessarily from the boys in the back. The boys in the back know I can handle myself but the fans, you know? Because for so long, they just saw me be like, ‘Hey Randy’ and I’m kind of such a goof and now they see me coming out, talking trash, throwing zingers at Seth [Rollins] and then trying to hurt him.”
