Former five times WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James said that the one and only women’s pay per view event of WWE, Evolution was set up to fail. She was not happy with the promotion of the event either.
The event took place in December 2018. As mentioned above this was the only WWE pay per view event organized that was filled with women’s matches only. There is talks of a possible Second Edition of this event, but so far it has remained the only women’s pay per view ever in WWE history.

Mickie James Thinks Evolution Was Set Up To Fail
The event, however, was weak. It contained a total of eight matches including the NXT United Kingdom Women’s Championship dark match where most of the matches were time fiilers only. Except the Championship matches, none of the matches had any back story. They were booked just to fill the time.
Non title women’s feuds are very uncommon in WWE. Even after the successful women’s revolution, non title feuds between two women are almost impossible to see in WWE even to this date. So one can clearly say that the revolution always remained incomplete. But we hope we can see non title women’s feuds in future.

Former WWE Divas Champion Mickie James recently spoke to Wrestling Inc. Daily where she said that the one and only women’s pay per view event of WWE, Evolution was set up to fail. She said;
“I thought we had made such a monumental stride by announcing Evolution. We all thought it was the start of something really, really cool. It was only really promoted for a month. The matches weren’t even announced but a week or two before. There was zero promotion or marketing.”
“It was almost set up to fail. If there was as much energy and focus put into it as perhaps some of the other events, and made and highlighted how monumental this actually is, perhaps that wouldn’t be true.”
