Former two times WWE Women’s champion is the latest inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame. Many WWE superstars and personnel congratulated her regarding this induction. Molly Holly did not have a very long wrestling career but in a small amount of time, she has gained a lot of fame for herself.
WWE gave her a really nice push during her small WWE career. She was one of the fewest women who held the WWE Hardcore Championship. Trish Stratus, Terri Runnels, and one of the Hos of the Godfather are the only three women who held the famous WWE Hardcore championship.
Molly Holly Was Disappointed Because Her Hall of Fame Speech Was Cut Short
Molly Holly also held the WWE Women’s Championship twice. She has some great matches with the likes of WWE legends Trish Stratus, Lita, Victoria, and others. And who can forget her infamous Women’s championship match against Victoria at WrestleMania XX where she had to shave her hairs. It gained her a lot of respect and popularity among the fans and the wrestlers.
Recently Molly Holly featured as a guest on the Busted Open Radio where she expressed her disappointment about WWE having her Hall of Fame speech cut short. She said;
“But the behind the scenes of after that is that I was told I’d have about 15 minutes to give a speech so I spent a lot of time and had three friends of mine that are professional writers help me and I practiced it for like 60 hours.
“I have a regular 9-5 job and after work every day, I would practice it while I was going for a walk and I worked really hard on it and then a couple days before, they said, ‘Oh never mind, you actually have two minutes to give your speech’ and I cried for like four hours.
“I was like I think all this — and the girls and I’m sure it happened to the guys too but a lot of times when I used to wrestle full-time, they would tell us, ‘Okay, you can have 12 minutes to wrestle’ and then right before we walk out they’d be like, ‘Nope, nope. You have four minutes’ and we’d be like, ‘Aw! We were so ready to tell a story of good versus evil and give the fans their money’s worth’ and now it’s just like entrances, two moves and the match and it would be like such a heartbreak so I think I took a lot of that resentment or hurt from 20 years ago and piled it onto that moment when they cut my speech down and I just was like, I was so sad.”
Molly Holly was seen giving sporadic appearances for WWE after she stopped wrestling full time. After leaving she was first seen in WWE in the Miss WrestleMania battle royal in the 25th anniversary of WrestleMania. But because of the poor booking she could not be verified before her elimination. She also appeared in two Women’s Royal Rumble matches. She appeared in the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble match and she also appeared in the previous year’s Royal Rumble.
