Natalya Neidhart has been a common name in the WWE for a long time period of 14 years. It is very difficult to survive in WWE for so long unless you are a main event star. A very small number of superstars in WWE food service for a long time even being a mid card wrestler. Dolph Ziggler being one of the prime examples of it.
Natalya could only win WWE Divas Championship once and the WWE SmackDown women’s Championship once in her 14 year old WWE career. So this is pretty much clear that WWE does not consider Natalya as a main event star. Then why has she never been released by WWE since joining?
There is one simple reason behind it; Her excellent relationship with Vince McMahon. Recently the former WWE SmackDown Women’s champion appeared as a guest on Ryan Satin’s Out of Character podcast where she talked about her relationship with the boss. She said;
At the end of the day, one of my most treasured things about working in WWE is that I know, when all else fails, I can always knock on Vince McMahon’s door and say to him, ‘Hey, I have an idea, what do you think?’ In my entire time being in WWE, Vince has always made time for me. Being as busy as he is and being in the position he is, he’s always heard me out. He’s always listened, said ‘yes,’ said ‘no,’ said why he liked it or didn’t like it, but I always felt I had a voice. I would go through the proper channels.
She also said that Vince McMahon believes in her that she will never let her down;
Fit Finlay is someone I would always bounce ideas off of. I would always bounce ideas off him and different writers, but when I couldn’t get answers, I could always talk to Vince. I know that takes time to build that relationship, but it’s always been that mutual understanding. Vince trusts me and trusts that I won’t let him down. He’s there and accessible if we need to talk to him. That’s been something I’ve kept through my whole career. I don’t want to abuse it, but when I need to go to him, I know I can.
Natalya’s contribution towards women’s wrestling in WWE is undeniable. Not only she wrestled in WWE for 14 long years but she has been a regular face in women’s wrestling in WWE. She is likely to win the WWE women’s Tag Team Championship along with Tamina Snuka soon. We hope she gets more title runs in the future.
