NXT Women’s Championship Match Changed For NXT Takeover – Chicago

This week on NXT tapping, it has been confirmed that Ember Moon will not be competing for the NXT Women’s championship on May 20th at NXT Takeover – Chicago.
Last week on NXT tapping, a 15 woman battle royal was organized to determine the No 1 contender for the NXT Women’s Championship. The winner will meet Asuka for the NXT Women’s championship at the NXT Takeover – Chicago.
This battle royal included some unknown faces except NXT women like indie star Candice LeRae. All the NXT women wrestlers participated in this match.
The final three competitors of the match were Nikki Cross, Ember Moon and Ruby Riot. When these wrestlers were fighting for the right to face Asuka at Takeover for the NXT Women’s championship Asuka interfered and beat down all three women. General manager William Regal had to come out to handle the situation as he informed that at NXT Takeover – Chicago, Asuka will defend her Women’s championship against all three women that were beaten down by her.
At NXT Takeover – Chicago, Asuka will defend her NXT Women’s championship against Nikki Cross, Ember Moon and Ruby Riot in a fatal 4 way match and it will not be an elimination match. That means Asuka did not have to get pinned neither she does not have to submit to lose her title this time.
But the question remained if Ember Moon would be able to compete at Takeover. After the assault from Asuka, it seemed like Ember got seriously hurt. Asuka threw Ember out of the ring and her shoulder directly crashed into the barricade. It looked like this collision gave her a real injury.
The injury had been confirmed by WWE on their twitter account as they tweeted:
BREAKING: After suffering a shoulder injury, @WWEEmberMoon will be unable to compete at #NXTTakeOver: Chicago. https://t.co/GEh4fHPEbP

We were not sure if the vacant position left by Ember Moon will be filled by someone else or not. This question is also been answered on NXT this week. The NXT Women’s championship match at Takeover will now be a triple threat match where Asuka will defend her title against Nikki Cross and Rubi Riot only.
