Paige has been retired from in-ring competition for almost four years now. The week she announced her retirement was the same week that the WWE appointed her as an authoritative figure on TV.
She became the General Manager of SmackDown, the night after announcing retirement. This run lasted from April 2018 to December 2018. Afterward, Paige acted as the manager of The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane), but that stint didn’t last long as she was soon taken off the TV in due course. It was all the way back in 2019 that we haven’t spotted the popular superstar on TV.
WWE Royal Rumble 2022: Present Favorites Revealed To Win Rumble Matches
With so many returns happening during the Women’s Royal Rumble match, Paige also recently teased an entry into the match but that may not be happening due to her neck injury. No update is also available at this moment about the much-speculated return.
In the meantime, the UK-native has posted a tweet saying that she wants to be a General Manager in WWE, once again.
“Yo @WWE @VinceMcMahon since you brought GMs back a while ago…”
“I was the best GM.”

Paige and Sonya Deville exchanged tweets
In response to this tweet, Paige and her former Absolution partner Sonya Deville had a heated Twitter exchange on Sunday. Being in her on-screen character, Deville not only made a negative remark about the former WWE Divas Champion but also claimed to be her boss.
The youngest Divas Champion in history then referred to Deville as a “f—ing clown shoe” and urged Naomi to beat up her boss on SmackDown. Reacting to the tweet, Naomi also claimed that she’d indeed be going to shut Deville up on the go-home episode of Royal Rumble 2022, this Friday.
I can still make you my bitch anytime I want paige 2.0 @NaomiWWE come get this fucking clown shoe. https://t.co/sWpIkjovs0

Deville served as the special guest referee for the Naomi vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair match. Being a biased official, she cost Naomi a shot at becoming the No. 1 contender to Charlotte’s title. Later on in the show, WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff questioned Deville’s leadership abilities which led to WWE Official Adam Pearce announcing Deville vs. Naomi for Smackdown.
While Paige was the one to introduce Deville to the main roster, back in 2017, she is also a good friend to Naomi. The two were also the starcast of WWE Total Divas reality TV series, back in the day.
