This week on Smackdown Live, we saw a ‘surprising’ heel turn of Dolph Ziggler. It was expected that at one point, Ziggler has to turn heel for a change but the way the WWE booked it was totally surprising and we never saw it coming. This is the unpredictability of WWE’s storylines which the fans actually like. Nevertheless, the switch was much needed and the fans are happy to see another villain added to the roster of Smackdown Live.
After what transpired on last week’s Triple Threat WWE championship match, Ziggler was put into a match against his bitter rival Baron Corbin. The Lone Wolf quite expectedly won the match. He was not done with the win and went straight to attack Ziggler further with a chair.
Kalisto came out to save the show-off only to be super-kicked to the face. Ziggler left the ring keeping all of us in confusion whether the heel turn has happened or not. But afterwards, he engaged into a backstage brawl with Apollo Crews to cement his new character.
Now, we have seen a villain Ziggler after a long time and so it’ll be interesting to see what’s next in store for him. Ringsidenews.com reported the WWE Creative is looking to book Ziggler a top heel on the blue brand. So, he will be continuing with the heel-ish antiques, going forward. This will further open up various options for him.
As of now, he might get into a feud with either Kalisto or Apollo Crews to emerge victorious and get to the next level, which will be a contender for a championship. He is probably going to be the No. 1 contender for the Intercontinental championship after Ambrose is done with The Miz. Also, if Cena wins the title at the Royal Rumble PPV, he might challenge Cena on a temporary basis before a big championship feud builds up for Wrestlemania.
