The LWO was recently brought back in the WWE after 25 long years. The stable was formed in WCW and it was in existence for a very short amount of time. But even in a very short amount of time, the faction became massively popular among the fans.
Recently, WWE brought back the famous faction on Friday Night Smackdown with of the original members of it as the leader of it, WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio. From the very first day of its return, it has been extremely popular among the fans and it looks like it would be alive this time for quite a while.
Shocking Revelation: Triple H Did Not Want To Bring LWO To WWE Reveals WWE Star
But according to one of the members of the factions, Santos Escobar, Triple H turned down the idea of the bringing back the faction at first. Recently the former NXT Cruiserweight Champion appeared on “Out of Character With Ryan Satin,” where he revealed the following;
“The very first conversation I had with Triple H, he asked me what do you want to do, and I told them, ‘Can I bring back the LWO?'” recalled “The Emperor of Lucha Libre.” “Before I said the letter ‘O,’ he said ‘No.’ [He said,] said the former NXT Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar.
LWO Is Currently One Of The Most Famous Stables Of WWE
“’I want you to be you and I want people to see you and not think of anybody else’ … That kind of shut down my initial desire, but Triple H was right. The time wasn’t right. It wouldn’t have been what it is right now. Also, it needed a very important ingredient: an OG. An original LWO [member], and that’s Rey [Mysterio].”
“[Legado del Fantasma] gave me the opportunity to do what everything I wanted to do,” said Escobar. “Who I am, where I come from, what I’m about … every single time I was out there. Every promo, every backstage, every scene, every feud, every rivalry was letting people know that I’m all about lucha libre [and] that lucha libre is about tradition, heritage, culture, and familia.
“All the values that you have whether you’re Mexican, Latino, or not, are the values I have. We relate, and that’s how Legado got over. That’s how Santos got really over on ‘NXT,’ because everything I say is real.” Concluded the former leader of the Legado Del Fantasma.
So far it had been a faction consisting five members, Rey Mysterio, who brought the idea of bringing back the LWO brought all four members of Legado Del Fantasma officially ending it. So far the new faction is going really good and we hope it gets stronger with time.
