What turned to be a blockbuster Smackdown, AJ Styles once again battled with Chris Jericho in another classic contest. Results are courtesy Wrestlezone.com.
Jericho welcomes us to “Thursday Night Jericho”. Jericho is pumped because he gets’s must anticipate rematch with AJ Styles. After Styles hit Jericho in the mouth this past Monday he realized that he had a lot of respect Styles, but he doesn’t like him that much. Jericho doesn’t know if Styles is great. Jericho says that Styles is not phenomenal compared to him. Who comes to the WWE on their first night and calls himself phenomenal? Jericho says that Styles hasn’t earned that right to call himself anything.
After being interrupted by the social outcast members, Styles and Jericho eventually teamed for the opening contest of Smackdown and beat them straight but Jericho delivered a message by hitting Styles with a Codebreaker.
The highly anticipated rematch did not disappoint as both Superstars put on another spectacular five-star match in the main event. At the end, Styles got caught with a “rookie” mistake and Jericho took the fullest advantage to win the match. Styles with a slingshot forearm to Jericho on the outside. Styles rolls Jericho back into the ring. Styles goes for the Springboard Flying Forearm and Jericho trips Styles mid-air. Jericho goes for the pin, but referee Rudy Charles finds Jericho out of position. Jericho sends Styles face first to the top turnbuckle. Jericho connected with the Codebreaker to pick up the victory. The rivalry has been on a personal note as of now and we sure can expect a rubber match between these two and that is going to happen at Fastlane, probably.
