WrestleMania is almost knocking on the door and like many other big names Kevin Owens is not involved in any feud for the ‘Grandest Stage of them All’.The former WWE Universal Champion has been on the main even title pictures against Roman Reigns for quite a while but as every fan knew, he was not going to get a title run at this stage. WWE’s main priority is to build the blue show around Roman Reigns’ shoulder, and that is exactly what they are doing so.
WWE wanted to build Roman Reigns as the new face of the company since John Cena left the company for Hollywood. It is believed that WWE is struggling to build a permanent face for the company right now. Even though, their main target to be the face is Roman Reigns for quite a long time. Roman Reigns is doing pretty well to carry out the legacy left behind by Bruno Sammartino, Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H, John Cena to mention a few.
What is Next for Kevin Owens?
But questions have been asked about the booking of Roman Reigns. Nowadays, nobody wants to see one particular wrestler winning all matches being a babyface – something that Hulk Hogan and John Cena always did. So the Multi-Million Dollar company decided to turn Roman Reigns heel after he joined Smackdown. He was well accepted by the fans since his heel turn, but the problem lies with the other constant error, he does not lose.
Meanwhile, Reigns had a long-running feud with Kevin Owens where many pundits believe that Reigns’ works were surpassed by Owens in many terms. But all the point of this feud was to hype Reigns throughout the feud. And that is exactly what happened. In the process, many fans fear that Kevin Owens might have been potentially buried. He has lost so many matches against Reigns which can never be a good outcome for his career.
After being on the main event picture for quite a long time and delivering some amazing matches recently, Owens was seen interviewing the Smackdown Women’s champion Sasha Banks and her WrestleMania opponent Bianca Belair in his scripted podcast. No way is this a good sign for the former WWE Universal Champion. His booking at the Elimination Chamber was not good for his profile either. He was eliminated quite early and the way he was booked almost showed that he is out of the title picture for good.
Fans are hoping to see a one on one match between him and Jey Uso at WrestleMania. No doubt it can be an amazing match but we fear that Kevin Owens is not going to be raised to the main event title picture very soon.
