By the end of the main event of WWE Fastlane 2021 PPV, WWE confirmed that Hall of Famer Edge will challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Title at WrestleMania 37. But as reported earlier, there a massive change in this lineup was noted owing to the chaotic finish witnessed in the bygone pay-per-view event.
Daniel Bryan had Roman Reigns tapped out to the Yes Lock with Special Ring Enforcer Edge acting as the referee. But then Edge snapped and attacked both of them giving advantage to the champion who escaped with a pinfall win. Afterward, F4Wonline.com revealed that Daniel Bryan would enter Edge vs Reigns title match, making it a Triple Threat at WrestleMania 37. This was further made official on this past episode of Smackdown.
Charlotte Flair Gives Clarification On WWE Removing Her From Wrestlemania 37 For Pregnancy
The main reason behind converting the set match at WrestleMania 37 is that WWE wants a title change to happen while they also want to protect Roman Reigns, at the same time. The Big Dog hasn’t been pinned since the fall of 2019 and that stat will remain unchanged even after he drops the belt.
Major Spoiler on Wrestlemania 37 match outcome
As per the earlier spoilers of WrestleMania 37, Edge is likely to become the new Universal Champion after the main event. But WWE doesn’t want him to put an end to the current undefeated streak of The Head of the Table. As a result, The Rated-R Superstar will pin Bryan to win his 12th world title.
Also, it’s being rumored that Daniel Bryan could be heading into his last match at the Show of Shows, this year as his contract in the WWE as a full-timer is coming to an end. Even if he re-signed, it would be a part-time deal where he may not be seen in the title picture.
That being said, WWE might be arranging one last big match for the former world champion at WrestleMania 37. During the build-up of his feud with Reigns, Bryan himself mentioned how this could be his last ‘Mania. Check out Bryan’s words regarding this matter, in an interview with Sports Illustrated,
“Realistically, it could be. But there is a difference between saying this could be my last WrestleMania compared to this being my last match.
After being forced to retire, I never want to retire again. It will be interesting to see what happens with my career. I don’t know if I can do the full-time WWE schedule anymore.
I’m not talking physically, I’m talking emotionally. I love being a dad. There isn’t much that could keep me away from being a full-time wrestler.
My favorite thing in wrestling is live events. I love that. The only thing that can stop me from doing that is how much I love my kids and how much I love being with them at home.”
