The last pay per view event WWE Night of Champions was not really a critical success. All the matches were easily predictable, and overall, the event was not certainly the best one of the year. Battleground, the newest PPV event of WWE has seven scheduled matches and a pre-show kick off match, can’t say that all these matches are easily predictable like the matches of the past event, but they are nothing much anticipated. But we can see some positive signs in this event which I have already mentioned, unpredictability. Not all of the matches could be predicted easily. But the worst thing about this event is its main event, a one on one match between the same individuals who wrestlers who wrestled for so many times in the past and surprisingly no stipulation has been added. Okay, now let us go through all the scheduled matches and make predictions for each match.
Pre Show :DolphZiggler : DolphZiggler has been demoted to the mid-card situation due to his controversial interview about the NXT, and we don’t think he would be elevated to the main event status very soon. We think this match should have been scheduled in the event directly rather than a dark match. It would not be a bad match surely. We predict DolphZiggler to pick up the victory. Damien Sandow might cash in his Money in the Bank contract later that night.
WWE championship – Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan : The anticipation level for this match is not very high, the only interesting thing to see in this match is how it ends and how the Best for Business storyline continues after the event. The best way to end this match would be a draw! It can either be a double count out or double disqualification. If the match goes to no contest, it would be very interesting to see what happens next. So here is our prediction, the match will go to no contest.
World Heavyweight championship – Alberto Del Rio vs. Rob Van Dam : To make this match more interesting, they added a Hardcore rules stipulation, which to be honest make this look a little better. But it is not a very anticipated match either. We predict Del Rio retains and Damien Sandow is also likely to cash in his contract.
CM Punk vs. Ryback : Probably the most anticipated match of the evening. We think this feud will be a success, and our prediction goes in favor of CM Punk. Because Punk has already two back to back PPV matches in this feud, and we don’t think he would lose for third time.
Divas championship – AJ Lee vs. Brie Bella : Don’t know Brie Bella was scheduled as the no 1 contender when the feud between AJ and Natalya being built pretty well. I think AJ would retain the championship. And losing the title to Brie seriously makes no sense.
Goldust and Cody Rhodes vs. The Shield : The condition that had been added in this match is really very interesting. This is might not be the best match of the evening but it would be really very interesting to see. We predict Goldust and Cody Rhodes will come out victorious and will win their contracts.
Intercontinental championship – Curtis Axel vs. R Truth :Probably the least anticipated match and easily predictable one too. We seriously don’t think they will let R Truth win any championships very soon. It can be an entertaining match but we think the championship will not change hand.
Bray Wyatt vs. Kofi Kingston :Bray Wyatt has very good mic skill but his wrestling skill has not been tested very well yet. High expectations built up in his match against Kane but he failed to impress in that match. Now it is time to see how Wyatt performs against a high flyer. Predictions are too easy for this match; Bray Wyatt will surely win it. But the big red machine Kane might return at the end of the match.
