WWE News: Goldberg considering to return in WWE for one last match
Now, since the moment, the trailer of the video game 2K17 featuring Goldberg was released last Monday Night on Raw the pro-wrestling fraternity stirred a bit with the possibility of a blockbuster return. They indeed want to see the gigantic spears but not from Roman Reigns, only. Who does not to see the franchise of the WCW’s heyday walking out to the ramp from backstage? Just thinking of the image electrifies our mind.
Now, with the previous reports and rumors flying around, Wrestling Observer reports that Goldberg indeed wants to return for one last big match in WWE. While the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion is not quite on the same page in the WWE, he did agree to work with marketing team for the promotions of the upcoming video game that will release on October 25th. Reports also suggest that day is not far when he would sit with the creative team to address the situation and thereby sketch the blueprint of one big match.
Goldberg was WCW’s main star back in its prime days and the name almost became synonymous with dominance there as well as in the short span he spent here in WWE. He was able to outnumber both The Rock and the then “Next big thing” Brock Lesnar single-handedly.
Since his last match in WWE which took place at Wrestlemania 20, his return has been quite a topic for discussions. That last match was quite a major meltdown as both men’s presence was shattered by the presence of the special guest referee i.e. Stone Cold Steve Austin. And both Brock and Goldberg left the company after that. The speculations were running around the time of Wrestlemania 32 that WWE has contacted the veteran for a one-night appearance on the grandest stage in Dallas, Texas. But, that plan got abandoned due to some creative reasons.
Goldberg took hiatus from wrestling in the year 2004 and since then he was seen doing commentary for various MMA promotions which includes World Fighting Alliance, EliteXC, and Dynamite K-1. He returned to the pro-wrestling circuit in last year’s June where he rescued Rob Van Dam from a beatdown by Scott Steiner and Luke Gallows. He connected with his pendant move spear to both of them. He followed it in a local event by spearing Steiner, again in a local event on January.
