WWE News: Jey Uso Gets Arrested; Company Releases Statement 1

The WWE locker room situation is in quite a volatile situation right now due to injuries and some other backstage issues.

In recent times, WWE Cruiserweight superstar, Rich Swann has been sidelined from in-ring competition after getting arrested by the police. This week, one of the veteran tag team champions suffered some serious consequences with same accusations.

Earlier, this week, Jey Uso, one-half of the reigning tag team champions have dealt with an arrest by the police. He was found driving under the influence. The incident happened on Sunday night in Texas. He was taken into custody but later got released on a $500 recognisance bond.

Pro-wrestling Sheet was able to reach the arresting agency to find out more details on this incident. As reported by them, Jey Uso was pulled over around 1 AM on that night. The police officer in charge observed that he was under intoxication. A field sobriety test got conducted on the spot, and the results turned out to be a positive one. It clearly showed that he was under the influence.

WWE has zero tolerance for this type of incident, and hence they sent an official statement to F4WONline which states,

“Joshua Fatu is responsible for his own personal actions. We are investigating the matter and awaiting information from local law enforcement officials.”

The Usos vs. Gable & Benjamin - SmackDown Tag Team Title Match: SmackDown LIVE, Jan. 2, 2017

At this point, it looks like Jey Uso’s career in the WWE is in serious jeopardy. Currently, he got bailed from the custody, and hence there was no problem in appearing on this week’s episode of Smackdown Live. However, they were kept in the backstage area and appear only via an interview segment.

They are also scheduled to defend their titles against Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable at the Royal Rumble PPV. The match is still intact to take place at the first dual-brand PPV of the year. But, if new reports come out charging Jey Uso, then there will be some serious consequences. If found guilty in this case then his WWE career might be over, effective immediately.

The Usos had a dream run in the year 2017. With a rivalry against The New Day over the tag titles, they have been able to establish themselves at the top of the division. Hopefully, they can continue with the run in the future, too.
