WWE News: Paige will continue with WWE even after Del Rio’s departure
To say the least, nobody in the recent memory has shaken the rumor mill so much as this British lady has done, since she is absent from WWE. Both Paige and his boyfriend, Del Rio were suspended from WWE on the same day in August. They were banned from WWE for 30 days for the company’s Wellness Policy Violation.
Now, last week WWE issued a statement to officially let us know that they are going to release Del Rio from the company. Once that news broke out after months of speculation, it was supposed that Paige will also follow Del Rio’s path calling it a quit in WWE.
It was also rumored that Paige is seeking legal actions to get her out of the WWE contract which gets expired in the year 2019. WWE has a non-compete clause for the performers who are not willing to perform despite being under the contract. This will not allow Paige to perform elsewhere in the world.
However, the latest from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter assures fans that Paige is not leaving the company, as of now. He attended a press conference held by Alberto Del Rio in Mexico City and gave an update on the Paige situation by saying:
“Paige was there at the press conference but wouldn’t talk to any reporters. According to those with direct knowledge of her situation, she was basically in the same situation A.J. Lee was on when C.M. Punk left. At one point this week it did appear she was gone, right now that isn’t the case, but it can change and the situation will be weird. The big difference is there is no legal action being taken against Alberto like there was against Punk.”
Alberto Del Rio further clarified that he left the company on good terms which left the scope for his return in the near future. Paige was present at the event but did not talk to the reporters, directly to avoid the sensitive topic.
