WWE News: Three Championship Matches Confirmed for Next Week’s Smackdown 1

The buildup for next week’s Smackdown has already been made high with the return of Vince McMahon. While closing the show, Daniel Bryan informed Kevin Owens that next week the chairman of the board would turn up on Tuesday Night to address the fallouts from the altercation that took place between Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon.

While we will learn what’s in store for the Smackdown commissioner in future, we would also get to witness a jam packed show. As we have learned on last night’s Smackdown, there will be three championship matches, next week.

A match was contested last week between The New Day and The Usos to determine the stipulation for the upcoming championship match. The former title holders still owe a rematch for the Smackdown tag team, but that match will be contested under the rules determined by the champions.

No revelation was made last week after the match. But, this week, The Usos declared that next week there would be a Sin City street fight for the tag team titles. The name of the match came up since next week Smackdown will be hosted in the city of Las Vegas. Check out the updates from WWE.com regarding this matchup:

“The next chapter in the bitter rivalry between SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos and The New Day will be a brutal one, as the two teams will battle for the titles in a Sin City Street Fight next Tuesday on SmackDown LIVE.”

It was earlier reported that Natalya would be defending her championship against Naomi. The former champion still owes a rematch and will get it in a big episode of Smackdown, next week. Nattie is still the favourite to win the contest and retaining the title.

Apart from these two matches, there will be yet another championship contest that was confirmed by AJ Styles. He was present at the ringside area for the match between Baron Corbin and Tye Dillinger. Despite the loss suffered by Perfect 10, the US Champion was pretty impressed by him.

Hence, he declared that he would reinstate the US Open Challenge, next week. But, this time around, the challenge will be open for one man only, and that is Tye Dillinger. So, next week, we will see the Phenomenal One defending his championship against Tye, again.

These announcements are going to boost up the ratings for next week’s Smackdown, for sure. Plus, it will make up the big gap between Summerslam and the next brand-exclusive PPV, Hell in a Cell.
